The purpose of me
When I first started the blog, it was a way to cope. Both with frustrations in my life as a whole (which was a bit of an emotional mess) and with little nuances I otherwise wouldn't be able to express about. Writing has always been a passion of mine, but i've always found it hard to really do so well without having a clear, short term purpose. Story writing was fun while it lasted, but ADHD smacked any resolve for that mess right back down. I don't particularly feel like having to water down my opinion for some newspaper column or other job in journalism, so - blogging seemed like a worthwhile alternative.
The same joy I received from writing, I also derived from blogging. My posts are only my opinion, sure, but I'm sure readers get the same little burst of happiness as I do once they realize they agree, or even a possible kindling of thought around whichever topic if they don't agree so much. Either way, I love to bring said joy to others besides myself, and also to raise awareness about matters that are important to me - or I believe should be important to others. And I think this blog can absolutely do that, and I plan to stick with it so I can see it happen.
As for the blog's niche, or topic, I'm dabbling with a little bit of everything for the moment. There are a lot of things I like, whether its fashion or politics or just things floating around in my head waiting to be turned into a drabble of brilliance. When I start to get a few comments or suggestions in which topics my readers truly enjoy and would like to see more of, I'll be happy to oblige. If I find a niche I come to enjoy wholeheartedly more than any other, I may begin posting more frequently about that area of inquiry of course. But always know, feel free to comment on my posts here or on instagram whether to ask me a question or suggest something else. My ears are always open, and with love!
I'm still working on the blog's aesthetic itself, testing out different colors and fonts and codes and such. I want to create a sort of recognizable brand or vibe, so that when you see my content on any platform you can guess it's from yours truly, of course. My instagram is slowly beginning to come together in that fashion, which you lovelies have probably noticed (and if you haven't followed me, shame on you, go go go!). I absolutely love being able to present my blog in such a simple and visually pleasing fashion, it gives me happy sparks inside. Shh. Don't judge me.
I have a good friend who's in love with the fine art of photography, and she has asked me to feature some of her photos on my blog and Instagram - which I am absolutely happy to do. This is my first time doing a collaboration of any kind, and I would love to know how you lot feel about them ! If you all love it, I'll make my best effort to do more, as I'm loving the blogging community more and more as I come into contact with more people who are interested in the same things I am, or have introduced me to new and greater things. So give my friends some love, y'all! Her Instagram is down below.
